My name has been Elly my whole life. Its the name my family has called me. It is the name that actually fits, so I stopped pretending it was anything else. Alya Hussain is what the paperwork says. Elly is who I am.
I grew up on a small island in the Maldives, the kind of place where the internet showed up before the traffic did. I fell for coding at 13 and it never quite let go. For a while I tried to be respectable about it and went chasing science instead, convinced the answers were in a lab somewhere. Turns out the heart keeps a stubborn map back to its true love, and mine kept routing to a blinking cursor. So here I am, back where I started, shipping things on purpose this time.
